"Arriving at Hovey for dinner on a sunny Saturday night, I am taken aback by the beauty of it all ... the house, the grounds and the killer view of Lake Massawippi. Hovey straddles the extremes of the country-house hotel genre by remaining both grand and quaint at the same time. Entering the inn I see welcoming faces who lead me down a hall to the cozy library lounge (...). Hovey's genteel hospitality offers a welcome change from Montreal (...). But what appeals to me most is the pampering, the fine food and especially all the little details a restaurant review can hardly capture."

- Lesley Chesterman, The Gazette (Montréal)

"The dining room of this historic Manor inspires voluptuousness, elegance and refinement. The service is discreet and professional. Fresh and tasty, ingenious and gourmande, light yet generous - such is the cuisine of talented chef Roland Ménard. (...) A memorable gastronomic experience."

- Guide Restos Voir,
Montreal

"The cheese cart at Manoir Hovey is the palette for (sommelier) Steven Monfette’s other passion - and, as with the wine, we asked him to focus on cheeses of Quebec, and in particular the Townships, as much as possible. He left us with several, the standouts among which were a chèvre noir, a two-years-aged, subtle and slightly grainy goat cheddar; and a brie-like cheese called Mi-Carême, that possessed a pleasing faint bitterness that I imagined tasting like
the Quebec earth itself. "

"The paneled dining room serves updated French cuisine, with a menu that changes with the seasons and features fresh herbs, vegetables and edible flowers from the kitchen garden. All are fragrant and full bodied, in attractive presentations."

"This romantic inn with truly outstanding food and wine is (...) a 25-minute drive north of the Vermont/Canada border. (...) Dining at the inn is a highlight. The level of service, knowledge and passion for their profession of both the waiters and sommeliers is remarkable."

-David and Linda Glickstein, The Discerning Traveller

"But the main course is the inn's famous cuisine. What refinement...and what a feast! Great care is given to the presentation, each plate prettily decorated with edible flowers....We took advantage of every morsel which was diligently prepared by the chef."
